[LUMINA x SIS] Recap “Game Industry Unlocked” Workshop – The mindset to enter the modern game industry

16/04/202614 views

The “Game Industry Unlocked” workshop, organized by Lumina Academy in collaboration with SIS, recently provided students with a fresh and practical perspective on the modern game industry - an industry where art, design, technology, and creative production come together.

Today, the game industry is no longer viewed simply as entertainment. It has become one of the fastest-growing creative industries worldwide, offering exciting career opportunities for students interested in digital art, design, animation, storytelling, and interactive experiences.

Throughout the workshop, speakers shared real-world insights into how modern game production environments operate. Rather than focusing solely on creating visually appealing artwork, professionals in the industry must understand how to solve problems through design thinking and how to build meaningful user experiences within actual products.

One of the most impactful topics discussed during the event was the relationship between skills and professional mindset. The workshop emphasized that a single skill alone is rarely enough to succeed. In professional studio environments, artists are expected not only to have technical ability but also to understand pipelines, teamwork, and large-scale production systems.

The speakers also highlighted that mindset and adaptability are often the most important qualities for long-term growth in the creative industry. This perspective encouraged many students to rethink how they prepare themselves for future careers in game development and digital production.

The Q&A session became one of the liveliest parts of the workshop, with students actively asking questions about career direction, portfolio development, studio recruitment expectations, and opportunities for newcomers entering the game industry.

Through these discussions, the workshop went beyond simply sharing industry information. It helped students discover career paths and opportunities they may not have previously considered.

Lumina Academy believes that understanding how the industry truly works is one of the most important first steps for young creatives who want to pursue careers in digital art
